14 of the Best Sites for Male Self-Improvement

I’m convinced we’re at the dawn of a new age in masculinity.

Every day, it seems I run across another person or project promoting a more responsible brand of mature man.

fiercegentlemans.com is just one small example in a virtual ocean of projects and people who are doing this good work.

Today, I wanted to take a second to write a quick round-up of a dozen or so of these great people and projects.

Here are a few of the best:

“PROJECTS” / Multiple authors:

  • Mankind Project Changing the world one man at a time, since 1985. The grand daddy of ‘em all.
  • Tribe of MenA low-profile group in Northern California that leads modern men through initiation rituals. Not sure if they’re still active.
  • Sword & Scepter - a 4-day workshop that aims to help men make a deeper connection with their power.
  • The Good Man Project – a large community blogging site. I like the general direction they’re going in — and I believe the editor in chief resides in Portland, which is where I’m from.
  • Authentic Man Program - I have a sense these guys are doing great work on male & female relationships.
  • Art of Manliness - A popularization of the concept of ‘rediscovered masculinity,’ this site became the internet’s #1 destination for topics such as “how to shave with a straight razor” as well as some articles on philosophy.
  • Being Caballero - Whenever I visit this site, I stay for a long time to read. The quality of the articles is consistently top notch. I’m honored to have been a guest poster on Being Caballero.

Solo Personalities & Coaches:

  • Elliot Hulse - this is a giant of a man’s mentor who deserves every single one of his 1.1 million YouTube followers. I predict big things for Elliot.
  • Charisma on Command - Ben & Charlie are two young guys who are out to make a difference in how charismatic men can be in relation to women. I like their work a lot.
  • Brad Branson - this guy is an up-and-coming star on the personal-development scene; he has a very polished presence and solid content, mostly aimed at younger guys looking to get good with women — but with a smattering of solid personal development info as well.
  • Remarkable Man Project – founded by Canadian coach Dwayne Klassen, this Project is holding it down in the frozen North for men who want to become more remarkable. Their mission: “1 Million Remarkable Men.” My question: why not 2 million? (Just kidding – I love Big Hairy Audacious Goals as much as the next guy, and maybe more.)
  • Men’s Adventure Group / You Are Free to Live – this group, run by men’s coach Jason Westlake (also a resident of Canada) does amazing trips into the unspoiled Amazonian jungle as the culmination of a year-long coaching program. It looks truly world-class.
  • The Confident Man Program – hailing from Australia, Graham Stoney is a coach who works with men to become more confident. Doing good work.
  • Allison Armstrong / Understanding Men a rarity in the mens’ self-development sphere, here’s a wise woman with a “Queen’s Code” that promises to give us an easy way to understand men AND women. She definitely has strong Princess / Queen energy. I haven’t read her book yet, but I get the sense she’s legit.
